Literature Text

Muse.

I saw her today standing by my reflection,
A blood slick knife held in her hand,
She had come by to offer some inspiration,
And to whisk me away to her Nightmare land.

Into my ear she quietly whispered,
Telling me of her love so dark and deep,
She whispered to me so many promises,
And of the twisted company we would keep.

I slipped quite easily into servitude,
And because of her such tales I did write,
I found it easy to give myself over to her corruption,
And then I could write deep through the night.

So I gave of myself to her so throughly,
And she in her part became my sweet dark Muse,
And of writing I did so quite often,
As forever each other we abused and did use.
